The Soulo Black Label is an upgrade on the classic Soulo Red Label which for years has been our most popular model in the Hilleberg collection. By upgrading the tents poles to 10mm DAC aluminium poles and building the outer tent from Kerlon 1800 (which offers an incredible 18kg minimum tear strength) the brand truly have created the perfect all-season one person tent.
The tent offers the same roomy interior as the classic Soulo with a 1.9m² sleeping space and 0.6m² vestibule which will offer enough room for even tall users carrying a weekends worth of kit. With the tent using more durable materials there is some trade-off with weight and the Black Label tent packs down to (a still comfortable) 2.8kg.
The Hilleberg Soulo BL is designed for all season use and offers a linked but separable inner and outer tent. The freestanding design of the Soulo required no pegs for pitching making it quick and easy to set up in even the worst of weather and when the temperatures rise the inner tent can be swapped out for a mesh version to provide additional ventilation. The Soulo’s outer walls extend all the way to the ground ensuring total weather protection while the mesh areas to the inner door are backed with adjustable fabric panels. To create the ultimate in stability and strength the tent features a dome construction with multiple pole crossing points to provide best in class snow-load handling capacity.
You can purchase an optional Soulo footprint to cover the entire area of the outer tent including the vestibule. We would recommend this additional purchase as it will extend the life of your Hilleberg tent and will also provide protection on rocky or thorny pitches.
Should you be looking to take your new Soulo Black Label to more ‘extreme’ environments there are a range of optional accessories available including Snow & Sand pegs, additional poles (which can be used alongside the provided 10mm DAC poles), pole holder kits and additional guy lines & line runners. It is worth noting however that the Soulo Black Label is already designed to withstand even the worst of mother nature and should be suitable out the box for any adventure you have in mind.
Hilleberg understand that ‘sustainability’ can be a difficult quality to establish and instead look at working responsibly and have a self-defined ‘Responsibility Code’. This code outlines that Hilleberg are;
- Responsible for making the highest quality tents, which do what they’re supposed to do, with no compromise.
- Responsible for using materials and practises which make as little negative impact on the world around us as possible.
- Responsible for constantly reviewing the balance between quality and impact to ensure they are always working towards a higher quality product with less negative impact.
The Soulo Black Label is a tent which is designed to last – and in turn is a more sustainable choice. By investing in a quality tent which will do for all of your expeditions, for years to come, you are reducing tent wastage and manufacturing excesses. Should your Hilleberg tent be damaged in any way then please reach out to Nordic Outdoor and we will work with you to ensure that we can find a suitable repairer to help you bring your tent back to its former glory.
