The Gransfors Splitting Hatchet can be used with one or two hands for smaller firewood. It is forged and ground to a concave, quite thin blade at the bit. The axe cuts quickly and easily into the wood and then effectively splits it as the broader section pushes apart the wood. The handle has a protective steel collar below the axe head and circular grooves towards the end for an extra firm grip. Each axe is supplied with a leather sheath.

Description

The Gransfors Bruk Splitting Hatchet is forged and ground to a concave, giving a thinner blade at the bit. This design helps the axe to go fast into the wood, splitting efficiently when the thicker part hits and pushes the wood apart. Ideal for one-handed splitting and chopping of stove wood. Please note - the poll of this axe, like the poll on most axes, is not designed for pounding on a wedge. Each axe is supplied with a leather sheath. Length: 48 cm Weight: 1.5 kg

If you require your order quicker we offer a fully trackable Next Working Day Service which offers email and SMS updates. This service is available for £3.95 for orders over £80 and £7.95 for orders under £80. Please note that to qualify for Next Working Day Delivery your order must be placed by 11am Monday-Friday. The Next Day Premium Service is available only to the UK Mainland and excludes orders placed to the Highlands and Islands.

Orders placed to the Scottish Highland and Islands and UK postcodes which are not considered ‘Mainland UK’ will be subject to a postage surcharge, these prices will displayed at checkout.
