We are very excited to announce that our new Pop-Up store on Frederick Street has reached it's one month anniversary! To mark the occasion staff from Head office and the new shop, including some new faces, have picked out some of their favourite new arrivals.

John – Marketing Assistant

As the writer of this blog and the newest member of the head office team I’ll start us off!

In our climate a solid winter coat is of the utmost importance. That’s why I’m going with the Houdini Spheric Parka.

The core Nordic Outdoor principals of style, function and sustainability are present in this coat. It’s a great looking piece and wouldn’t look out of place in the city. It’s warm, waterproof and has plenty of pockets, meaning it is equally suitable for outdoor life.

My favourite aspect of the coat however lies with the brand itself. Houdini are committed to being as environmentally safe as possible when making their clothes. The fibres in this coat have all been recycled, the down has been replaced with a synthetic substitute and it’s built to last. Environmental impact has been minimized in the production of this coat without substituting quality anywhere. It is therefore easily my favourite item in the new shop.

My favourite item this season must be the Dale Seefeld feminine sweater. I love that the garment has a more androgynous cut compared to the other styles yet still looks so feminine. Not to mention it is 100% merino and so delicate against the skin and the weight is perfect for me, as someone who is slim, I prefer a bit more weight in my clothing. I think the classic Dale style is so nostalgic of Scandinavian style and it looks so great paired with a woolly hat and some boots. Perfect for winter!

To stock an iconic piece like the Amundsen Heroes Anorak is quite a honour. Not only because of its impact on the shop floor but also the story behind its inspiration.

The Heroes anorak is inspired by the original anorak Roald Amundsen and his men used during the conquest of the South Pole in 1911. It is very much a statement piece which draws attention to itself from anyone entering our beautiful new Frederick Street store.

Taking pride of place after having arrived only a matter of days ago, its simplicity is striking. The natural colour which has a wax coating and the humanely sourced Coyote fur hood makes this oversized cotton linen blend an eye-catching piece that anyone would be proud to have amongst their outwear collection. This is most certainly my favourite piece in store at the moment! One to add to my list of wants!

I think my favourite item is the Fjallraven Keb trousers. I've had a pair for 3 years now and they look as good as the day I got them. The g-1000 can easily be waxed to improve the durability and I've used them for every camping and mountaineering trip as they're just so versatile. They're also a pleasure to wear, as the stretch material around the legs and waist make them comfortable to wear, even when you're not in the great outdoors.
